Zlatan Ibrahimovic
“The first iconic player I remember for me is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. When I was a kid, I remember watching compilations of his actions and goals and being impressed by them. This continued as I grew up, with each goal more incredible than the last. I was also very attached to the character.”
Cristiano Ronaldo
“My second iconic player is Cristiano Ronaldo. For me, the value of hard work is extremely important, and what CR7 has shown over the years in terms of consistency is unequalled. He’s more than a great player. He’s a role model. It’s no surprise that the new generation’s best players regard him as such. I hope he’ll pass the symbolic 1,000-goal mark by the end of his career.”
Marc Planus
“Finally, the third player is an iconic member of my club, Marc Planus. An old-fashioned defender, he did what few players do today by staying with Girondins de Bordeaux for his entire career. In his 13-year career, he played 330 matches. He has been part of all the Girondins’ battles, including the famous 2009 Ligue 1 title and the 2007 and 2013 cups. I still remember the farewell matches in 2015, which were a very moving moment for the club.”
